Join IES24 in New York City, August 15-17, 2024, as a speaker for conference sessions, pre-conference workshops, or technical papers and presentations.
Proposals are currently being accepted for the following conference activities:
• Conference Sessions – 60 min
• Pre-Conference Workshops – 3-6 hours
Submissions for technical papers, technical presentations, and posters will be opened in March 2024.
Submissions for the 2024 IES Street & Area Lighting Conference will open in December 2023.
Deadline for submission is January 10, 2024.
Speaker Sessions (60 minutes)
Formats can include interactive sessions, lectures, and roundtable discussions. While the traditional lecture-style presentation is a fine and trusted format, we encourage you to be creative in your approach and welcome submissions that use video, live demonstrations, audience interaction, and other techniques to create new experiences for conference attendees. Includes 10-15 minutes for questions and answers. Session speakers receive one full conference registration.
Recommended topics for speaker sessions:
- Art and Process of Design
- New and Emerging Technologies
- Environment and Sustainability
- Light and Human Health
- Humanities and Ethics
- Professional Practices
Pre-Conference Workshops (3-6 hours)
This year they are offering a long-format workshop option to attendees for an additional fee the day before the conference begins. This longer format allows for more in-depth exploration of a topic, greater conversation with attendees, and the possibility of hands-on time with materials or equipment, targeted to intermediate to advanced professionals. Alternatives to the traditional lecture-style presentation here. Workshop speakers receive one full conference registration.
Possible workshop topics could include:
- Hands-on Controls or Fixtures Workshop
- Software Training (CAD, Revit)
- Energy Code Training
- Deep-Dive Case Studies
- In-Depth exploration of Lighting Related Topics
- Submission must include an estimated agenda of the time and topics to be covered.
