Part 1
Sharpen Your Revit Skills!
November 10, 2021 | 6:00pm – 8:30pm ET
The Revit for Lighting Designers class is geared towards sharpening the skills of Revit users from beginners to experienced. Revit is one of the most popular tools available and is widely used for the creation of 3D digital Building Information Modeling (BIM). Proficiency in Revit is critical to effectively share information with project teams and in the production of design and construction documents. This class will be led by Jason Van Nest, RA, a BIM expert with over 12 years experience, who has helped train staff members at numerous architecture and design firms on the use of advanced technology to improve their project delivery workflows. He will apply this knowledge and skills to the needs of lighting designers.
Attendees will learn:
- An overview of the basics: Revit Interface, Datums, Host Elements, Dimensions and Editing Types
- Work-sharing Theory: Server based BIM Editing
- Introduction to Family Editor, Creating Custom Families, Nested Families, Role of Parameters, and Hosted Lines
- Troubleshooting, Project Organization and Optimal Workflow
